株式会社ジェイ・キャスト(東京都千代田区、代表取締役社長:蜷川真夫)は、2010年1月5日付けで、大手広告代理店の株式会社電通(東京都港区、社長:高嶋達佳)と共同で、インターネットにおけるエリアターゲティング事業の新会社「株式会社あどえりあ」を設立いたします。
ジェイ・キャストはインターネットにおける地域情報判別特許を持っており、この特許の実施許諾権を新会社に独占的に提供します。

J-CAST to Launch New Company AD AREA, Developing New Advertising Market in Japan

TOKYO - December 24, 2009: J-CAST INC., the fast-growing online news service, is to launch a new company, AD AREA Co., Ltd. on January 5, 2010. This is a joint venture with DENTSU INC., Japan's top advertising agency. Its mission is to develop a new advertising market in Japan with an innovative feature of area targeting technology on the Internet.

J-CAST has patented area targeting technology, which automatically distinguishes the spot where a user accesses a website, and displays a suitable ad on that website according to the user's access point. The importance of regional targeting has been rising in the Internet advertising market.

While the newspaper and TV industries have a system to deliver advertisement on a regional basis, such technology has not functioned well on the Net. Using this patented area targeting technology and other expertise, AD AREA is to develop local-friendly advertising, and a method to show advertisement with different timing in different places so as to contribute to an expansion of the Internet advertising market.

AD AREA will license its technology to those who need it on their website or ad networks, and collect a license fee, which will become one of the company's revenues. The firm is also going to cooperate with website businesses, regional advertising agencies and advertisers to promote the diffusion of a system in which regionally-targeted advertising is efficiently exposed. In addition, AD AREA will provide consulting and technical services, and product information release.
